GOVERNMENT

AND LOCAL COUNCIL

City of Sydney

The City of Sydney has engaged MoveCorp to manage several projects, such as:

  • Relocation of about 720 staff from/to various locations, including their personal belongings, IT equipment, printers & audio visual equipment, filing & storage, records management and appropriate re-use of furniture, safes and their contents.

  • Relocation of an entire Gym, its corresponding offices and reception area.

Our experience and expertise enabled MoveCorp to provide relocations such as these with zero downtime, within timeframe and to budget.

Queensland

Police Service

MoveCorp delivered storage consultancy services to Queensland Police in the creation of its Centre of Excellence for the new QLD Police Academy.

MoveCorp also provided advice for a consolidation project to centralise other QLD Police Services facilities at the Academy Precinct. We provided detailed storage plans for the main Exhibits, Supplies, Warehousing and Clothing Stores. Our design focused on creating an operationally efficient layout that would provide future flexibility and a sustainable approach.

MoveCorp worked closely with key stakeholders, and the design and project teams, to ensure that the design addressed key concerns, operational necessities and was consistent with the client’s vision for the future.

Parramatta City Council

MoveCorp managed the relocation of about 500 Council staff, and the entire Parramatta City Council Library, into temporary accommodation in 2015, so that their previous buildings could be demolished in preparation for the Council’s large scale redevelopment project.

With only 7 weeks from strategy commencement to project delivery, this project required very swift program development, and communications and engagement processes. The tender scope for removalists was developed accurately in less than two weeks and awarded in time for an on-time relocation.

MoveCorp made the strategic decision to lower risk by awarding the removalist contract to two companies; we managed both operations to successful completion, inclusive of the entire library, in just a 10 day program.

Department of Human Services

MoveCorp were engaged to manage the relocation and consolidation of a selection of The Department of Human Services (DHS) sites nationally.

Our engagement began with input in the planning phase of the project, which included liaising with business groups and project teams to determine the scope of works for the relocations, and the development of the relocation strategy and staging plan, coordinated with the construction programme.

We had significant involvement in the staff communications concerning the relocations, with a relocation pack distributed to all staff documenting the relocation procedures, and MoveCorp presenting to all Business Groups, Consultative Committee and Project team.

MoveCorp managed the implementation of the entire relocation schedule including (but not limited to) –

  • Briefings and the supervision of the Relocation Contractors and sub-contractors;

  • Managing full disconnect, relocation and reconnect of all I.T. equipment

  • Stakeholder liaison

  • On site presence during relocation and post relocation

As part of these services MoveCorp was also responsible for the planning and implementation of an asset audit and disposal program.

Continual risk assessment and communication with the Project Manager and Client and key stakeholders, as well as no downtime in operations was primary concern.

Parliament square hobart

The Tasmanian Department of Finance engaged MoveCorp to provide advice to all five agencies relocating into the newly developed Parliament Square in Hobart.

MoveCorp's core deliverable was to assess and consult to the design team on the storage and document management requirements for all agencies.

MoveCorp designed and ran workshops and developed change management processes and programs for the Department, to assist its transition to a paper light working environment in the new building.

Adelaide Convention

Centre

As part of its redevelopment project, the Adelaide Convention Centre needed an analysis of its storage and workflow. Architectural firm, Woods Bagot, engaged MoveCorp to provide this analysis, to assist with the overall design of the main storage areas affected by the redevelopment.

In the second stage, ACC engaged MoveCorp directly to undertake an analysis of the current storage situation and to explore culling objectives.

MoveCorp’s analysis included:

  • Stock reduction planning

  • Operational considerations

  • Workflow analysis

  • Potential storage efficiencies

This analysis would be used to plan storage processes for several of the construction stages, where large portions of storage areas would be unavailable.
