MoveCorp is glad to join the Gold Coast Hospital redevelopment project team. This major QLD Health project sees the development of a 160,000sqm new facility to service the Gold Coast region. MoveCorp has been appointed to oversee the Storage Solutions and Migration. The MoveCorp team are full steam ahead working on several interesting projects Australia wide. We have recently seen the successful completion of American Express to their new Sydney Headquarters, SouthBank TAFE have completed a 3 year PPP project in Brisbane and the Australian School of Film, Television and Radio to the New School in the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park. Other current projects  include Sydney Water Corporation, who are moving from Sydney CBD to a new purpose built building at Parramatta, DTEI in Adelaide, several Australian Army projects and the new training facility for the QLD Police Force.

MoveCorp  was engaged by Cathay Pacific to support their team with formulating the strategy for, undertaking the planning of and ultimately supervising the first stage of their relocation to the new Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

The relocation involved over 800 pieces of heavy airport ground handling equipment, 12,000 cubic metres of technical stores and over 3,000 office-based staff moving from 19 existing sites to 4 new ones, 700 of them during the first stage of the move.  The majority of the ground handling equipment and 300 of the staff had to be moved within eight hours overnight between the closure of Kai Tak Airport and the opening of HKIA.

Cathay required MoveCorp to produce a strategy to undertake this scale of move, assessing the risk involved to business continuity and recommending preferred methods of transport and timings.  MoveCorp did this by close liaison with all Cathay departments involved and with their technical relocation team.  The result was an impressive strategy document which was proved to work during the move its main recommendation to use road transport rather than barges proved particularly wise in this event.

All the moves which MoveCorp were involved went smoothly, especially the overnight move which was seamless.

Throughout the whole process MoveCorp were able to contribute their expertise and knowledge of Logistics to Cathay internal teams, and the combination of this external expertise with in-house knowledge of the business and work on the detail involved proved extremely effective.

Airports

MoveCorp provides strategic advice to the new airport owners, operators and project managers, on the physical relocation to the new terminal/ building - and then if engaged to plan, manage and supervise the physical relocation, having formulated, and obtained approval for the Migration strategy.

We also provide support for airport and terminal testing & commissioning, airport trial operations, airport operational readiness and a change management program that will need to be implemented to allow the new operation to run effectively.

New terminals will undoubtedly offer new technology to users (both staff and travelers) in all aspects of Terminal operations. New technology and a new environment require training for, and adopting, a new mindset. MoveCorp considers change and education management crucial to the successful migration and thus will derive and or support the management program.

Airport Projects that MoveCorp have supported include Hong Kong's Chep lap Kok (Cathay), Athens' Spata (Olympic), Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion ( Bovis), London's Heathrow T5 ( BAA/BA).

Hospitals

In the health sector, hospitals and clinical facilities are dealing with increased operational competitiveness including the implementation of new technologies and processes, limited resources and facilities by redeveloping. MoveCorp is supporting this evolution by providing migration planning and management that enables operations to continue during redevelopment!

Health facilities are of course purpose built to cater for specialised requirements such as emergency departments, clinics, mental health services, infectious diseases, radiology and pathology, storage of confidential patient records, morgues, offices, general wards and rely on associated specialised equipment, ranging from bedside oxygen to high tech cardiac monitoring, ventilators, and radiography and sinography equipment. MoveCorp has the experience to ensure it can ensure that all these different requirements are treated and transferred by professional interface with the client operators.

MoveCorp's land mark project was the transfer of the Sydney's Children's' Hospital to Westmead and has been involved in the PPP redevelopment process of the Newcastle Mater and the Royal North Shore Hospitals.
