Orange General Hospital Relocation

MoveCorp completes the relocation management project with great success  - zero service interruption

MoveCorp was on the team of successful PPP consortium Pinnacle Healthcare, responsible for the delivery of the new Orange General Hospital which opened in March 2011. MoveCorp’s scope was the provision of strategic planning and project management for the relocation of the hospital. In partnership with Pinnacle Healthcare, NSW Health Infrastructure and GWAHS, MoveCorp successfully implemented a relocation program that ensured that the hospital saw no loss of operations throughout the transition period. The relocation of the entire Orange Hospital was achieved in a 9 day period centred around the critical patient transfer days, where 76 patients, including critically ill were moved in a two day period without disruption to their care.

In addition to the general hospital, three mental health inpatient units consisting of 65 patients and over 400 staff were relocated into new facilities at Bloomfield. Due to the complex and high security nature of the mental health operations, comprehensive planning and coordination of relocation activities enabled a series of smooth and event free relocation phases. The new Mental Health facilities along with the New Orange Health Services hospital now form this consolidated state of the art Health Campus in Bloomfield, Orange.
